RSS

RSS is a format of file of the XML family developed specifically for places of news and weblogs that updates frequently and through which the information can be shared and through which it can use it in other web sites or programs. It is in essence a rediffusion of contents. For influence of the English language it accustoms itself to referring to it using the syndication barbarism.

Potcasting

The podcasting term derives from the expressions Anglo-Saxons "Play-On-Demand" (POD), that it means it "replays en demanda" and "broadcasting", that it means broadcast and webcasting. The Podcasting is similar to the software of video and devices like the TiVo, that they allow to look at the one that you want when want recording and storing the video. The podcasting generally is used with files of audio although this technology can be used for any class of file, including updates of software, images, and videos.

That is, the podcasting allows the recording of radio for Internet or similar programs of internet audio. These recordings can unload in a reproducer portatil (like for example an iPod) to be able to listen to the recording in any place or to listen to it directly from the computer.

Often this technology is used together with the technology RSS that allows to check out if there are new files and to unload them in an automatic way.
